In Colorado the limited driving privilege is the restricted license with interlock. You apply through the Colorado DMV (hearings division). Typical wait before you are eligible: 30 days of a full revocation for a first offense.
The filing comes first
Colorado DMV requires the SR-22 for 3 years and pulls the interlock privilege immediately on lapse.

Colorado requirements checklist
- Proof of SR-22 financial responsibility filed by your insurer
- Payment of all reinstatement and application fees
- Completion of any court-ordered alcohol or drug education program
- Ignition interlock for at least 8 months on a first offense
- Enrollment in Level I or Level II alcohol education
Interlock and verification
Ignition interlock is required for most DUI reinstatements and for all persistent drunk drivers (BAC 0.15+).
