In Georgia the limited driving privilege is the limited driving permit. You apply through a Georgia DDS customer service center. Typical wait before you are eligible: available at suspension for a first in-five-years DUI if you did not refuse testing.
The filing comes first
Georgia DDS accepts electronic SR-22 filings and cancels the permit the day an SR-26 arrives.
Minimum liability in Georgia is 25/50/25, and the filing must stay active for 3 years. See Georgia SR-22 insurance.
Georgia requirements checklist
- Proof of SR-22 financial responsibility filed by your insurer
- Payment of all reinstatement and application fees
- Completion of any court-ordered alcohol or drug education program
- Completion of a DDS-certified Risk Reduction (DUI school) program
- $25 permit fee plus the $210 reinstatement fee

Interlock is required for many repeat DUI offenders and for early license reinstatement programs.
