In Missouri the limited driving privilege is the limited driving privilege (LDP). You apply through the Missouri Department of Revenue or the circuit court, depending on the suspension. Typical wait before you are eligible: 30 days of a 90-day suspension for a first alcohol offense.
The filing comes first
Missouri requires the SR-22 for 2 years from the eligibility date, filed electronically with the Department of Revenue.
Minimum liability in Missouri is 25/50/25, and the filing must stay active for 2 years (3 for some repeat offenses). See Missouri SR-22 insurance.
Missouri requirements checklist
- Proof of SR-22 financial responsibility filed by your insurer
- Payment of all reinstatement and application fees
- Completion of any court-ordered alcohol or drug education program
- Ignition interlock for the entire restricted period on alcohol offenses
- Substance Abuse Traffic Offender Program (SATOP) enrollment
Interlock and verification
Missouri requires an Ignition Interlock Device for most DWI reinstatements, typically for 6 months minimum.
Missouri DOR monitors filings; an SR-26 cancellation results in immediate license suspension.
